IOS 15.x – Only the c7200 series get newer IOS 15 images. All other platforms are now end-of-life and only support IOS 12.4. All other platforms are now end-of-life and only support IOS 12.4. Please note that the IOSv appliance is based on IOS 15 and there are IOU (IOS on UNIX) images with IOS 15. I do most of my network simulations in GNS3. And there I also need Cisco IOS / Juniper images. In this post I’ll try to explain how to make following setup: 2 Cisco 7200 routers; 1.

Dear Jermy/team,
can you please say me why there is a error messege happens as i give the # sh flash: command please see the screenshot
it happens alway and to store any CME file i have to fortmat disk0: and store there ...

I belive this is the reason why: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-2667.
Basically to summarise:
Look at the size of the device in slot 0. Flash cards are available in sizes up to 20MB. Flash disks begin at 48MB, and are available in sizes up to 256MB.
If you have a flash disk, issue disk commands for Flash disks, as shown in the following command output:

So it is dependant upon the size of the device in slot0.
less than 20MB - sh flash:
48MB or greater - sh disk0:

thanks for your reaply but can u say me how can i run the show flash command scuccessfully in GNS#3.
is it possible in gns3 or not to find a flash memory in 7200 series router in gns#3 ?

I have just tried reducing the size of the disk in GNS3, but it still shows as disk0:, so it looks like it wont show up as flash:
Unfortunately I don't have a physical 7206 so can't do a real world test.

Hi,
I have the same issue. Your flash should be presented as disk0: for 7206 VXR router.
Below is the output from show ver command.

show ver
....
524288K bytes of ATA PCMCIA card at slot 0 (Sector size 512 bytes).
1048576K bytes of ATA PCMCIA card at slot 1 (Sector size 512 bytes).
8192K bytes of Flash internal SIMM (Sector size 256K).
Seems that disk0 and disk1 are presented in the router, right? But command show file systemsdoesn't show any capacity for disk0 and disk1.
But it is true for Version 15.2(4)S2. Once I run 7206 with older IOS - 12.4(24)T5 disk0 is presented in the output of show file systemsand I can normally work with it (mkdir, copy, format etc.)
It seems that the failure of not recognizing disk0/disk1 properly is somehow dependent on the version of IOS. I think we should make more test with different IOS and Dynamips version.
Dynamips 0.8.2RC3
GNS3 0.8.4RC2
UPDATE:
Version 15.1(4)M2 is without issue. Maybe bug in Version 15.2(4)S2?

i tested as per the IOS name given by you on dynamip RC5 (gns3 0.8.4 rc2 ) .problem is same so so should i change the dynamip to rc4 for the result . ?

From this article you can download 1700c GNS3 IOS image for router only for GNS3 use. Cisco 1700c is a very cool IOS for gns3 as it required a very little RAM. In this way you can utilize the maximum of you RAM and can run the maximum number of routers in GNS3 as compare to any other IOS like 7200 series which required high RAM.

But the shortcoming of this IOS is that you can only run the following interface or module with cisco 1700 IOS image:

  1. Ethernet
  2. fast- Ethernet
  3. Serial or WIC interface
